Children: understanding difficulties at school and home
You may notice repeated trouble following directions, completing schoolwork, keeping track of belongings, or managing impulses. An evaluation considers your child's developmental history and daily functioning, alongside the questions that brought your family here.
Teens: understanding organization, independence, and growing demands
As school and daily responsibilities become more complex, difficulties with planning, deadlines, attention, or follow-through may become more noticeable. The evaluation explores the pattern behind those concerns and recommendations suited to the teenager's needs.
Adults: making sense of longstanding patterns
Missed deadlines, disorganization, unfinished tasks, or persistent restlessness may lead you to wonder about ADHD. Adult assessment considers current difficulties as well as childhood history. Similar concerns can have more than one explanation; the purpose is to understand the evidence, not assume a diagnosis.

A psychologist-led evaluation, tailored to your questions
Dr. Cindy John, Ph.D., leads your clinical intake, individualized testing, interpretation, feedback, and written report. Dr. Colleen Long, Psy.D., provides clinical-director consultation and quality review.
The assessment brings together clinical history, relevant records and rating scales, and standardized testing selected for your questions. Your psychologist considers how concerns affect everyday life and whether other or overlapping explanations need further attention. Testing tasks contribute information; an individual score does not tell the whole story.
1. Clinical intake by telehealth
Meet with Dr. John to discuss your concerns, relevant history, and what you hope to understand. The intake helps define the evaluation's scope. The 60-minute clinical intake costs $250 and is credited toward your total evaluation fee.
2. In-person testing in Mission Viejo
Complete individualized testing with Dr. John at our Mission Viejo office. Measures are chosen for the clinical questions being considered; every client does not receive the same set of tests. Scope and total fees are confirmed before testing begins.
3. Feedback by telehealth and a written report
Discuss the findings with Dr. John, ask questions, and review recommendations. Your written report explains the findings, diagnostic conclusions when supported, and practical next steps.
What your report can—and cannot—tell you
The report integrates the information gathered during your evaluation. It can explain whether the available evidence supports an ADHD diagnosis, describe relevant strengths and difficulties, and offer recommendations for home, school, work, or follow-up care, as appropriate to the evaluation's scope.
An evaluation does not guarantee an ADHD diagnosis. Findings may point to another explanation, overlapping concerns, or a need for additional information. The report should make any limits or unanswered questions clear.
Recommendations can inform conversations with schools, employers, and treatment providers. A report does not guarantee accommodations, eligibility for services, a particular medication, or insurance reimbursement. It also cannot predict with certainty how someone will respond to treatment.
Fees and what is included
A focused ADHD evaluation is $3,250. The $250 clinical intake is credited toward that total, rather than added on top. If your questions call for a broader evaluation, the scope and total fee are confirmed before testing.
The evaluation includes clinical intake, individualized testing, scoring and interpretation, review of relevant records and rating scales, a feedback session, a written report, and recommendations.
BonPsy is a private-pay practice and does not bill insurance. A superbill is available for possible out-of-network reimbursement; coverage and reimbursement are determined by your plan.
