We provide comprehensive neuropsychological and psychological testing for ADHD, autism, learning differences like dyslexia, cognitive concerns, and emotional or mood-related questions. Every evaluation is tailored to the specific questions you’re trying to answer.

We work with children, teens, and adults, along with parents, schools, physicians, therapists, and other referral sources who need clear, reliable answers about a person’s cognitive, emotional, or behavioral functioning.

Yes. We provide testing across the lifespan, from young children through adults, and tailor our approach and measures to each person’s age and needs.

Our office is in Mission Viejo, CA, in Orange County. We welcome clients from throughout Orange County and beyond, and offer telehealth testing across California when clinically appropriate.

The clinical intake and feedback appointments are conducted by secure telehealth. Core testing is generally completed in person at our Mission Viejo office so standardized procedures can be maintained. Limited measures may be administered remotely when clinically appropriate.

The fee is $3,250 per evaluation ($250 intake credited + $1,500 deposit to schedule testing + $1,500 after testing). Unusual rush or extended-consultation needs are quoted in advance.

Every evaluation includes a 60-minute clinical intake, an individualized test battery, scoring and interpretation, relevant record and rating-scale review, a comprehensive written report, a dedicated feedback session, actionable recommendations, clinical-director quality review, and superbill available on request for possible out-of-network reimbursement, determined by your plan.

The clinician confirms your testing, feedback, and report schedule based on the evaluation scope, appointment availability, and receipt of relevant records. The length and number of testing sessions vary. Ask about your specific deadline before proceeding; a particular completion date is not guaranteed.

The intake is a focused conversation where we learn about your concerns, history, and goals, and answer your questions about the process. It helps us confirm fit and plan the right testing approach for you.

You or your child will complete a series of standardized tasks and questionnaires, administered in person in Mission Viejo or online when appropriate. We use gold-standard, evidence-based measures tailored to your specific questions.

No, we’re a private-pay practice and do not accept insurance. This lets us avoid authorization delays and insurance-driven limits on testing. Superbill available on request for possible out-of-network reimbursement, determined by your plan.

Dr. Cindy John explains your findings in plain language and discusses recommendations and questions. You also receive a written report; confirm its delivery schedule with the clinician. Ask what the findings clarify, what remains uncertain, and which next steps to prioritize.

An evaluation can provide findings and recommendations to discuss with a school. Share the school’s documentation requirements during intake so the clinician can consider them when planning the scope. The school makes its own eligibility and accommodation decisions; a private report does not guarantee an IEP, a 504 plan, or particular supports.

An evaluation may provide documentation to support an accommodation request. Before testing, ask the receiving organization for its requirements and discuss them with the clinician. The organization decides whether documentation meets its criteria and what accommodations, if any, it will provide.

Testing requires being able to sit for an extended session and participate willingly. We’re not able to test people who are in acute crisis, unable to sustain attention for several hours, or being forced to test against their will. We’re happy to help point you toward other resources if that’s the case.
